Drixel took the dive bomb head on. Crystal shards shot everywhere. Drixel saw that Inor had him by the neck. Drixel saw that inor's hand was rotting. "looks like your demon spirit can hold onto that angel body of yours."

inor released Drixel from his grasp and saw that his word were true. his hand looked like it was rotting from within. Inor took his other hand and started to peel off the rotting flesh.
as the bits and pieces of flesh fell to his feet Inor was shocked to find a demon claw under the angel flesh. inor let out a soft chuckle. "looks like am turning back into a demon."

Cassiel stepped out of the dark tunnel, into a large hallway seeming constructed out of solid black crystal. Whoever had built this place apparently had some sort of back door, whether they realized it or not. The ceiling of the hallway faded to a slightly clearer material, like smoky glass, casting a gray light throughout the area. Taking a moment, Cassiel recorded all this in his book.
"Looks like I'm turning back into a demon."
These words echoed down the hallway, pulling Cassiel's attention away from his writing. A wave of anger washed over him, followed by curiousity. Making a mental note to return to his writing later, Cassiel moved down the hallway, pressing himself against one wall to hide himself as it ended, opening into a large central chamber. Inside, what appeared to be two angels conversed, surrounded by large fragments of black crystal. However, both of the angels seemed...off, somehow.
Taking a closer look, Cassiel concentrated, using his ability to sense supernatural energies. A strong demonic aura surrounded one, and as he looked closer, he noticed that parts of the angel seemed rotten and diseased. One of the angel's hands was replaced with a demonic claw. Adaptation of a spiritual body to the inhabiting spirit...interesting. Haven't seen a case like that in a few decades.
Looking at the other angel in the chamber, he saw that he was surrounded by primal, elemental energies. Traces of the same energy seemed to radiate from the walls of the palace, with spectral threads linking back to the angel from various points around the chamber.
So...a possessed angel, and an elemental mimic? An unlikely pair...the crystals and the hole in the ceiling suggest a fight, but they seem to be speaking normally now...could they be allies?
A shudder ran down Cassiel's spine. His academic side wished to wait, and listen to their conversation, learn what was going on before acting on faulty assumptions. However, his hatred for demons battled against his curiousity fiercely, urging him to strike. If they were working together, taking out either of them would be satisfying, even if the other killed him before he could finish the job. After a moment of internal struggle, Cassiel reached a compromise.
Opening his book, he held a hand open above it. The pages flipped quickly for a moment, settling on a page full of complex runes and symbols. On the opposite page was a diagram, a circle with writing around the edge and alchemic symbols filling the center. Placing his hand on the circle, Cassiel began to read the words in a whisper, the letters glowing as they were spoken.
As he finished, he faded from view, having cast a brief invisibility spell on himself. Drawing his sword quietly, he ran through the room, hiding behind the massive throne. He ducked into the shadows there, just in time as the spell faded. Holding his sword ready, Cassiel listened intently to the odd couple on the other side of the throne.

Drixel placed his hand on the wall, repairing the whole in the roof. "i was under control of a evil spirit by the name of Shard. he wanted me to become the new Baalaose. i spent the last 2 days purging him from not only my body, but these crystals." Drixel explained. "so how has your fight against your own kind been going?" Drixel asked.

Inor let out a large sigh "well my powers are slowly returning to me when they do. those demons are not going to know what hit them" inor said.

So...the mimic was under influential possession, and the demon...if his story is true, I'm looking at one of the Risen. Certainly explains why they're cooperating, and the mimic's explanation fits as motivation for the fight...
Cassiel sheathed his sword, opening his book and writing down his observations. To a casual observer, Cassiel's writing would appear to be a chaotic, stream-of-consciousness jumble. To him, however, it made sense enough for his purposes. If the Holy Archives still benefited from his work, then their books would sort it all out on their own.
As he became absorbed in his writing, however, Cassiel's focus made him unaware of just how loudly his writing sounded when it echoed off the smooth walls of the chamber.

Inor's eyes shot open "did you hear that? lets hope this works." Inor closed his eyes and listened for the sound he herd before.
Inor started to glow a faint purple a vision of a man writing in a book was all he could make out. the glow quickly faded from inor's body. "damn couldn't get a location all i know is were not alone here."

Cassiel froze as he heard the demon speak. Trying to move quietly, he stood, slowly closing his book, and pocketing his pen. However, he'd been in a crouching position when he sheathed his sword, and the sheath had become tangled in his robes. As he stood, it tilted, until his sword slid out, falling to the floor with a loud clang.
Without concern for how it would appear to the mimic and the demon, Cassiel quickly dashed for his sword, picking it up and holding it before him for a moment, examining it to ensure it was undamaged. It was one of a precious few items he'd taken with him from Heaven all those millenia ago, and to have it damaged so carelessly would be unfortunate, to say the least.
However, to the angel and demon on the other side of the throne, he appeared to be holding up a sword in a defensive stance, almost as if he expected a fight.

Drixel saw a man fall from behind the throne, stood back up drawing his sword. "easy stranger. we mean you no harm. might i ask what you are doing here?"

Cassiel's attention snapped to the other angel as he was spoken to, and after the mimic finished speaking, Cassiel realized how things must look. He lowered his sword, but was hesitant to sheathe it, unsure of how the demon would react.
"Nor do I mean harm to you, mimic. I am an archivist, and when I saw this palace, my curiosity got the better of me. Once I found my way inside, I heard you and your Risen friend speaking, and came here. I apologize for trespassing in your home, I meant no offense."

Cassiel nodded, sheathing his sword again, concealing the scabbard beneath his robe. "I am called Cassiel. As I said, I am an archivist. I am responsible for recording any new information I encounter, be it locations, spells, events, anything really. My work has been dull for some time, but within the last few years, things have been changing rapidly. I've been busy."
As he spoke, Cassiel placed a fist against his chest, over his heart, giving a short bow to Drixel. It was an ancient angelic greeting, one that, from what he'd been able to gather from other Fallen over the years, had fallen out of use with the general populace. Now, it was mostly a military greeting, not unlike a salute. "I would hope us well-met, Drixel, in spite of our inauspicious first encounter."
Turning to Inor, Cassiel faltered for a moment, before hesitantly giving the demon the same gesture. "If you truly are one of the Risen, Inor, I wish you the best of luck, and am honored to make your acquaintance."

Inor looked over Cassiel. the honor all mine." as inor finished that sentence, the flesh on his arm peeled off like a banana falling to the floor. relieving a buff demon arm.
