As the flaming man leapt from the pack, Roland barely heard his scream over the sudden gunfire. However, as the group huddled together and began to glow, Roland realized it was little more than a distraction.
His knife still drawn, Roland snatched Zeke's pistol from the holster on his hip, and advanced towards the group. He fired 3 times, but his grip faltered as Old Sarah's voice seemed to echo in his mind. Then a flash filled the area, and a booming shockwave left Roland stumbling. When he looked back, the group was gone, save the two dead tenants the Dogs had taken down.
Walking over to the bullet-riddled body of the pyrokinetic, Roland stomped out a stray ember on the ground, and looked to his Beta as he handed him his gun back.
Zeke studied the Alpha's face carefully as he accepted his weapon. His expression was impossible to read.
"So...boss? Do we count this as a win?"
Roland was silent for a long moment, but eventually nodded. "They ran away, Zeke. We scared them off. The CPD is gone, my arm is healed, the Boarding House stands empty...yeah, Zeke, we call this one a win."
Turning to the others, Roland raised his voice. "RS-17 is Dogs territory now! But we've got work to do before we can close the book on this one. Morris, meet with Gamma Jaycen at the CPD HQ, scour the place, every file they've got. If the Police knew something we didn't, I want to know about it. Jenkins, Harrison, Sutherland, stay here. The three of you, Zeke and I are going to search this house top-to-bottom."
"Everyone else, move out! There's still plenty of people that haven't heard the news! Spread the word! The Dogs of War are here, and we're here to stay!"
