[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus and Visignis appeared inside the Forge, the remains of Visignis' door tucked under Pyrodeus' arm.
"Alright, if it's all the same to you, I'd just as soon leave the doors metal," Pyrodeus said. "I'll just plant a seal over the front of them, and they will seal and unseal at your will, like the doors to the Forge."
He then paused, and a smile crept onto his face. "I used to look at Tamina like that, you know," he told Visignis.[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]Visignis smiled at Pyrodeus' comment, but said nothing at first.
"Father, there are two things I wanted to ask you. That's why I came along. First, can you put my seal on the doors?" he asked, holding his bracer up. Visignis' seal of a flame atop crossed revolvers shone brightly in the glow of the Forge.
"And...can I see Aurumagnus' seal?" he asked, quickly and quietly.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus nodded, smiling warmly. "So you finally made yourself a seal," he said. "The sign a blacksmith's apprenticeship is over. I'm proud of you, son."
The second request then sank in. "Aurumagnus' seal?" he asked, honestly befuddled. "What do you need to make gold for?"[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]"For a ring," he said. "I want it to be something I created, something with meaning. With power, in a literal and figurative sense."
He looked down at his bracer. "This was basically your wedding ring for Mom," he said. "You forged this, with your own magic, and you even took it one step further and threw in a sword. That's better than any diamond ring in any jewelry store."
"That reminds me," Visignis added. "I know you keep precious stones for use as runes. If you've got one, I'd love to grab a diamond for the ring. Anything around a carat or so would be awesome."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus' jaw hung slack. "You mean you want to marry Viviana?" he asked, taken aback. "Son, how long have the two of you known each other?"[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]"About four months," Visignis said. "But, you of all people should know that 4 months in combat with someone makes a bond as strong as 4 years for most civilians."
Visignis looked to the floor. "I spent 50 years in an ice bed, while my body fought with all of its ageless power to keep me alive. For fifty years all I could do was think. And I'd venture a guess that of those 50 years, around 15 of them were spent thinking of her. My single greatest regret of my 8,000-year life is letting Viviana die."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus looked at Visignis and smiled. "To anyone else that might sound crazy, but it makes sense to me. Of course, I only got to spend one night with your mother. Some bonds are formed independent of time, Visignis, and I see you've formed a bond like that."
He then created a hoop of flame around his wrist, reaching out to the seal of Aurumagnus. The moment his hand closed around the seal the orange flames became a brilliant yellow, and the hoop quickly became a large golden ring. Pyrodeus promptly shrank it to the approximate size of an engagement ring.
He then opened a case of small uncut diamonds. He pulled out one, and formed his sword. It burst into flame, and soared around the diamond at breakneck speed, cutting and polishing it.
"Not bad," Pyrodeus said. "But you really want this to be special. Something with panache." His eyes then fell upon the diamond.
"Visignis, I've got an idea," he said, stepping outside the Forge. He then fired a pillar of white-hot fire into the sky, in an attempt to give off enough light to attract Taelyrn's attention.[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn re-materialized in front of Pyrodeus, siphoning off a good portion of the light from the pillar of flame to speed up the process. He stood, facing the God of Fire.
"You called? I was just about to touch down at the Mansion when I saw the fire."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus nodded at Taelyrn. "Perfect timing. I need a hand with some magical imbuement, and I think you're just the guy."
Pyrodeus walked inside the Forge, where Visignis stood, holding the ring. "Why don't you tell Taelyrn what that is?" he said, smiling proudly.[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]Visignis grinned. "It's an engagement ring," he told Taelyrn. "I'm gonna ask Viviana to marry me."[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn's jaw dropped slightly, a quiet gasp escaping his throat. However, he quickly regained his senses, closing his mouth for a moment, gathering his thoughts.
"If you're serious about it, Visignis, and I've got no doubt that you are...I'll be glad to help, any way that I can." He smiled slightly at Visignis, before turning to Pyrodeus.
"May I?" he asked, holding out his hand.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus nodded, handing Taelyrn the ring. "The ring is hand crafted, with a little help from Aurumagnus' energy. Just like Visignis' bracer, it's almost totally indestructible and will size itself to Viviana's finger once she puts it on. The diamond is, for now, just a diamond. That's where you come in."
"The potential bride-to-be has the ability to fire purple lasers from her eyes. Now, lasers are just a specific kind of light. I was curious if you would be able to endow this diamond with light energy, thereby making any laser-themed attacks by the wearer more powerful."[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn nodded as Pyrodeus explained the enchantment already in place on the ring. Holding it closely, he could see that the gem was as close to perfection as any natural diamond could ever be. Hell, the gem on the handle of his sword had more flaws than this.
He smiled at Pyrodeus' suggestion. "Can't say I've ever tried to enchant something, let alone so specifically. Then again, I always did work best under pressure."
He held his palm out flat, the ring in the center of it. Looking around, he grimaced slightly, walking back outside, into the sunshine. There, as soon as the light struck it, the diamond began to shimmer, reflecting a spectrum of colors in every direction. He was again wowed by the perfection of the gem, and began to concentrate.
The ring began to glow, outlined in bright white in his palm. Then, it slowly began to float up, suspended in a faint sphere of light, now held between his two hands. He closed his eyes, as his wings separated into the tendrils, spreading out from beneath his cloak and orienting themselves to point at the gem. There was a moment of inactivity, before 8 thin beams of white light shot from Taelyrn into the gem, continuing for a few moments before stopping. Taelyrn opened his eyes, looking at the now glowing gem. He walked back inside the Forge.
"That should do it." he said, holding up the ring between his thumb and forefinger. Inside the Forge, the gem's glow easily lit the darker corners of the place, yet was not so bright that it hurt to look at. He held it out to Visignis, willing the glow to dim only slightly, reducing the visibility of the gem, but not the magic within it.[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]Visignis took the ring, smiling as the light shining from the diamond illuminate his face. "Thank you, Taelyrn," he said. "I gotta hand it to my father, the powering up her laser eyes was a brilliant touch."
His smile then gave way to a more serious look. "And don't worry, I'm very serious about this. I've never been more sure of anything in my life."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus laughed aloud. "You two never cease to amaze me," he said. His face quickly shifted to one of concern. "Whoops," he said. "In all this excitement, I forgot all about making the doors."
Pyrodeus walked into the Forge with the door, and flame jets and bangs from his hammer resonated through the Forge. A loud roar was heard, accompanied by a blast of fire that fired from the Forge itself, sending a few licks of flame into the main room.
Pyrodeus returned, carrying a large door made of crimson metal under each arm. "The two halves of your seal are on the two doors," Pyrodeus said. The barrels of the crossed revolvers protruded from their respective doors, meant to overlap when the doors sealed.
Pyrodeus smiled at Taelyrn and Visignis. "Well, there's certainly a lot to do back at the mansion," he said. "Should we get going?"[/glow]
