So, I've been kicking around an idea, and I want to know what you guys think. I think I've already talked to some about this, but I can't remember at the moment.
Anyway, I was basically thinking about setting up a trial for new folks. Essentially, how this would work, is there would be a new board set up in the OOC area, for newcomers to put up their trial post, which would essentially just be a single post portraying their average style. This would be the only board that guests would be able to post in. As the place is set up currently, they can only post in the OOC board anyway, so this wouldn't be too far of a stretch.
The stretch comes in when the admins must approve new members before they are officially registered, and allowed to log in. As for people who are already here, and simply want to register a new character, they would need only to let me know that the incoming account is theirs, via PM or thread on the trial board. I have very many ways of determining whether or not this is the truth. Though, if I do get fooled, and someone gets in and starts posting stuff that I, or the other admins disprove, they, and the person who vouched for them, will be kicked.
Just an idea I've been throwing around. Let me know what you guys think.

Hmm...I'd maybe suggest a split of the OOC board, like a sub-board, titled 'Tryouts', or something similar, or maybe just re-name the OOC, and be done with it.
In all honesty, we almost never use this board, except for talking about RPs. Maybe we could move our current discussions, or things like them, to the 'Important Information' or 'Suggestions' boards, since that's what they fall into, more often than not. Maybe split a sub-board from one of those, dedicate it to discussions like this.
Then again, there's the cluttery method, whereby you simply add a 'Tryouts' board to the main page.
Anyway, I like the idea of having the whole site open to see, mostly because I like to imagine that some of our more frequent Guests are simply here to find out what's going on in the story. I'm most likely wrong, but my imagination is preferable to reality, more often than not.
Also, I like the idea of having Admin approval be required for new members. I hope our standards aren't so high that we're rejecting 4/5 folks, but I doubt that'll rly be a problem for us.
PS: Hey, Guests? If you read this, plz plz PLZ like us enough to get involved! We're generally nice ppl (unless you're a jerk...but I hope you're not), and we'd love to get some fresh ideas here! Plz?
