[glow=blue,2,500]Cryodivus and Visignis appeared in an alleyway, in what appeared to be part of Haven's gigantic city. There was a homeless man lying in a corner, who stared, wide-eyed, at the pair.
"Pull your cloak on," Cryodivus said to Visignis, retracting his wings in the hopes of keeping as low of a profile as he could.[/glow]

[glow=blue,2,500]Cryodivus shook his head, sighing. Looking around to make sure no one was looking, he opened a small portal through the Frozen Plane. A blast of arctic air emerged as Cryodivus pulled Visignis' cloak out of it, frozen solid but fortunately not destroyed.
He handed it to Visignis. "Grab this with your burning hand, ir it'll stick to your fingers," he said. "Thaw it out, and put it on, quickly. That portal is gonna draw attention, just as surely as that sword and those guns."[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]Visignis grasped the cloak with his artificial hand, steam rising from the hood where he held it. Turning his back to where the alley led into the street, he extended his forearm and coiled it around the cloak, steam billowing upward.
"Sorry, I know this is high-profile," Visignis said to Cryodivus, taking the scimitar off of his back and holding it with his free hand. "But if I put on a sopping-wet cloak, I'll just give off steam until all the water is gone anyway." The heat from his magical arm and hand quickly thawed the cloak, and soon the steam slowed from heavy billowing to steadily rising, until the cloak no longer gave off noticeable amounts of steam.
Visignis slung the scimitar and sheath over his back once more, and put the cloak on over it, pulling the hood over his head. His weapons were now concealed, along with most of his body and part of his face.[/glow]

*An invisible man stood in the ally way. the invisibility was caused by a suit that blocked all forms of detection. sight, heat, radar, even non vocal sounds. it works by bending the light around him. He had gotten there about a second and a half after the intruders. They weren't even trying to be stealthy, almost sad.* "You should probably just go back where you came from. We don't take uninvited guests lightly here, and you obviously have no idea what your doing. Do you think you can just come in here guns blazing? It is really amazing the people you meet in this job."

[glow=blue,2,500]Cryodivus turned to face the man after hearing his voice.
"We're here to find a friend," Cryodivus said. "We have no quarrel with you, and as soon as we find her we'll leave this place."[/glow]

*The voice laughed hysterically for a moment and then regained itself.*
"Wow I didn't realize how cheesy that line would sound. Sorry, its just that you have no friends here, and if you do its time to forget about them because you can do nothing to change what will happen to them here. I suppose I'm being a bit direct and may be assuming to much. who is this friend? how do you know her? and why would you have to sneak in here, if you could call it that, to see her?

[glow=blue,2,500]Cryodivus frowned. He turned to look at Visignis, a confused look on his face. "Is there actually someone talking, or is this plane playing tricks on me?" Cryodivus asked, starting to feel foolish about replying to the voice in the first place.[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]Visignis remained motionless, not wanting the cloak to flap and reveal his weapons. "I hear him, too," he replied quietly. "Either we're both losing our minds, or he's real."[/glow]

[glow=blue,2,500]Cryodivus nodded, then turned to face...whatever was talking to him. "She was badly injured, and we started a procedure to save her life. The procedure can be paused, but not reversed. We need to finish what we started."[/glow]

Post by Taelyrn on Mar 5, 2009 19:20:55 GMT -6
[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn faded into being behind Cryodivus, his cloak wrapped tightly around himself. Once again, he was grateful for Pyrodeus' advice to spend some time on his elemental plane. One of the first things he'd learned was how to bend light around himself, and with a little practice, he'd figured out how to make his teleportation invisible as well.
He'd been watching Cryodivus speak to thin air for a few moments before materializing, however, and he'd figured something out, or at least, he thought he had. He couldn't see exactly where the voice was coming from, but he had a general idea. Around the place where the voice continued to come from, he could feel the light bending, like water around a large stone. He was clueless as to how the man did it, but the end result was that he couldn't see him, no matter how far he shifted his vision.
Stepping up to Cryodivus, Taelyrn whispered to the God if Ice. "There's someone there, for sure. I've got no idea how he's doing it, but he's blocking his own body heat, as well as bending the light around him. I've got a rough idea where he is, though. I can feel the space where he should be."[/glow]

[glow=blue,2,500]"You're not being attacked now," Cryodivus told the man who was definitely there, despite what his eyes told him. "You're the only one being hostile. Our entrance, if a bit flashy, was harmless."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]In a flash of flame, Pyrodeus and Viviana appeared near the others, all of whom seemed to have their attention focused on...something.
"Hey, guys," he said. He then noticed that Cryodivus had retracted his wings into his back, and both Taelyrn and Visignis were wearing their cloaks.
"Oh, are we trying to keep a low profile?" he asked, pulling his own wings inside of his back. "I hope the teleporting didn't tip anybody off."[/glow]

[glow=blue,2,500]Cryodivus turned around just in time to see Pyrodeus appear in a burst of flame, his flaming wings clearly visible. Viviana stood next to him, holding a shotgun in her hand with three more weapons stapped to her.
Cryodivus put his face in his palm, and slowly shook his head. "Too late," he said. "Believe it or not, there's an invisible guy right over there," he said, jabbing in the general direction with his thumb. "Your teleporting and her total lack of concealment don't help anything, but he already knows we're here."[/glow]
