As Taka turned the corner, his eyes fell on the house Maku had described. At least, he assumed it was the same house. All the neighboring homes were in fairly nice condition, while this one had a boarded-over hole in the roof and plywood over one of the front windows.
The hospital had released him about an hour after Maku had left, his hands bound behind his back. There had been no questions of payment or anything of the sort, and Taka had left before they began to question too seriously how he'd made it back to his hospital bed after being escorted off the premises.
With a sigh, Taka walked up to the house's front door. He hadn't seen the demon in nearly 4 months, and absentmindedly wondered what the odds were that they would both end up in Thoncir.
Raising his hand, Taka gave the door a firm knock, and waited. He hoped someone would answer. Otherwise, he'd be standing here, in broad daylight, trying to get an answer out of what appeared to be an abandoned house.

Inor was awoken from his slumber by a knock at the door. he sat up from the couch, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and shuffled to the door, Opening it ajar to peek at who it was. he saw standing there who at first he thought was Maku Inor opened the door a bit wider to get a better look. "Maku or Taka?" he voice was filled with confusion after just waking up

Taka smiled. "Taka, at least this time." Stepping past Inor into the house, Taka moved into the living room. "How's it going? It's been a while."

Inor smiled. "yes it has" inor looked around at the mess that is the house. "sorry about the mess i ment to get around to fixing it up but i kept getting side tracked."
"please have a seat." inor offered. Inor walked into the small area that was the kitchen. the kitchen had new floor tiles and a fully stocked fridge. "would you care for something to eat?"

Taka gave a shake of his head, excusing the messy state of the house and turning down Inor's offer of food. All he wanted now was to know what was going on.
"I'm fine, thanks...how long have you been here in Thoncir? It's only been, what, 4 months since we split up?"

inor shook his head "ya something like that"
Inor closed the fridge door and headed back into the living room were he sat down on the couch. "Drixel maku and myself arrived here about id say," he thought for a moment. "a two months at most." he answered. "what brings you here?"

Taka's eyes widened slightly as Inor explained that Drixel, Maku and himself all arrived at about the same time. He guessed that explained at least part of how his brother had gotten here. The why remained unanswered.
"I've been living in the City for the past few months, Maku was there too at first. Then he left, for his own reasons, and I stayed behind."
"Something big went down today, I think...I've been working at City Memorial, volunteering as a nurse? Anyway, today these guys stormed into the place, hauled me out at gunpoint after killing the Director. They took me to this crazy guy, and...and..."
Taka's words drifted off as he remembered the traumatic display of the man re-breaking his bones, forcing him to heal them, and then almost killing them all anyway.
"I'll hold off on the details for now, if that's alright...long story short, I think I got teleported here. Someone found me and took me to the hospital, got me confused with Maku."
"They musta called the Army to report him AWOL, cuz when he came to visit, he got taken out in handcuffs. He told me to come find you, lay low for a while until he could get in touch."

Inor listened to Taka's words. as he finished inor stood up and walked to the boarded up window. "well then if he said to lay low he must have a good reason." Inor placed his hand on the wood and inhaled deeply.
"well then looks like i got more reason to fix this place up." inor mentioned. "there is a small bedroom down the hall. its nice and clean and has a soft bed, if you want it."

Taka smiled, and nodded. "Thanks. I passed out after I dropped into town, and that's the only rest I've had today. A real bed sounds fantastic."
Excusing himself, Taka made his way down to the small bedroom Inor had mentioned. Falling onto the bed, Taka quickly dozed off as his body rested from the day's ordeal.

Some time later, Nate and Old Sarah stood across the street from the seemingly run-down house. The now ex-detective looked skeptical as he glanced down at the old woman. "Are you sure about this? Even if Taka knew his way around Thoncir, why would he go to a place like this?"
Old Sarah looked up at Nate for just a moment, long enough to silence the man. Looking back at the house, she replied, "I'm quite sure, Nathan. Taka heard that an old friend of his was living here, and so he has come here to seek shelter until everything is sorted out."
"Until what's sorted out? The only thing I can even think of right now is punching Roland in his smug, crazy little mouth. He killed two of our housemates, and Jeremy...Jeremy would still be here if that crazy bastard hadn't shown up."
With a sigh, Old Sarah nodded. "I know, Nathan, I know. But more than revenge, protecting ourselves must be our greatest concern right now. Roland has no shortage of tricks up his sleeve, and now that he has the City without opposition, he will likely learn a great many new ones."
"Coming to Thoncir was our best chance. Here, in this city, are all the resources we need. Worry not, Nathan. Roland's time will come, and this city has a part to play in that end. But for now, we must put thoughts of vengeance aside."
Nate sighed himself. He knew she was right. And if Taka was really in this house, then it was where they needed to be. Making sure Old Sarah followed, Nate crossed the street, stepped up to the stoop, and knocked on the door of the damaged house.

Inor had just finished putting new plaster over a few cracks on the wall, when he herd another knock that the door. "now i wonder who this is." he said with a smirk, expecting Drixel or maybe Maku.
He went over to the door and opened it ajar. he looked at the two people standing on the stoop. there were people he hadn't seen before. "may i help you?" inor asked.

Nate began speaking as soon as the door opened. "Excuse me, we're looking for our friend, he's...he's...uh..." His voice trailed off as he realized who he was talking to. The man that answered the door was easily a foot and a half taller than he was, and the horns on his head, combined with the otherworldly glow around his eyes stated pretty clearly that he wasn't a man at all.
Shaking her head at Nate's surprise, Old Sarah shrugged past both Nate and the demon as she walked into the building. As she passed the demon, she reached up, and her hand brushed against his. In a flash of information, she knew all there was to know about this demon, Inor, past and present, at least.
"Inor, my name is Sarah, you can call me Old Sarah, everyone does. This is Nate Gideon. We're friends of Taka's. You see, the three of us fled the Unnamed City due to circumstances beyond our control, and I'm afraid we were separated on the way. Now, I know that Taka is here, and I cannot thank you enough for letting him rest. If it's perfectly alright, Nate and I would like to stay here, at least until he awakes."
Old Sarah finished her speech with a smile, looking up at Inor from nearly three feet below him.
Nate continued staring as Old Sarah shoved past him, and only after Old Sarah finished speaking did he finally manage to stop. He'd never met a demon, not that he was aware of, anyway. This first one certainly made an impression.

Inor just stood there in awe of what just took place. he knew old Sarah had a great gift if she knew all that info from just once touch.
"please come in and have a seat." he tired to speak but he still found him self speechless. Inor walked to the kitchen and finally spoke again. "would you care for something to drink?" he asked.

Nate took a seat on the couch, while Old Sarah moved immediately for a large armchair in the corner of the room. He smirked. It was exactly what she would have done in the Boarding House after a long day out and about. Thinking of the House only brought back his anger at Roland, however, and Nate sat brooding, unresponsive to Inor's offer.
Old Sarah, however, was a good deal more social. "A drink would be wonderful, Inor. There's some juice in the fridge, it'll go bad if it sits there too much longer. Let's say we finish that off, hm?"

Inor opened the fridge and looked at the juice. she was right it was about a day away from going bad. he was still amazed at her ability. "sure thing" Inor got three glasses and poured the juice. offering one to old Sarah. and the other to Nate. "So..." inor couldn't find the words to speak.
