Name: Roland Van Patten
Age: 21
Race: Argalian
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 140 lbs
Physical Description: Physically human; long black hair, with natural streaks of grey, pulled back into a ponytail; wears a grey t-shirt and blue jeans, with a silvery coat made of an unknown material and slim, metallic sunglasses; carries a large black-and-silver messenger bag at all times
Weapons: carries 4 standard-issue Reclaimer Electro-Cable Harpoon Batons; 2 Bio-EMP Emitters; Standard-Issue Solar Recharge and Repair Kits
Equipment: Personal EMP Shielding (in jacket); Bio-Impulse Scanner (in glasses, used to detect superhuman abilities through airborn DNA samples)
Abilities: Basic CQC training, as well as extensive training with his weapons and equipment; natural mechanical aptitude, allowing him to 'tinker' with his equipment
Bio: Some time before Roland was born, a group of beings, called 'The Couriers' by the Argalians, appeared from out of nowhere, demanding power over the world's governments. When it was denied, they took it, easily, by superhuman force.
By the time he was a teenager, the Courier's rule was absolute, and any who questioned their right to rule were quickly, and painfully, silenced. The Courier's strengths lied not in military force, but in their own individual abilities.
However, while most 'silenced' were done so for political reasons, Roland's parents were among those killed out of amusement for some of the more sadistic Couriers.
Details aside, his parent's death left Roland alone, and hungry for revenge. After barely escaping close encounters with several of the weaker superhumans, he was taken in by a group dedicated to removing them - the Reclaimers.
The Reclaimers were another upstart group when he joined, but his intellect and passion for the Courier's destruction quickly boosted him from a low-ranking grunt to the Reclaimer's R&D Department.
After a few more years of fighting, the Reclaimers eventually gained enough support to go public, turning their underground tactics into a world-wide civil war.
However, days before the Reclaimer's planned final strike against the Couriers, the war reached a stalemate, as the Couriers called in reinforcements. With neither side willing to back down, the world's destruction was assured.
Before that could occur, however, leaders on both sides of the conflict suddenly disappeared, maintaining the stalemate. Enraged, Roland led a suicide attempt at a final assault.
Easily rushing through the Courier's new forces, he soon found himself against one of the last commanding Couriers left: A young woman named Leyra.
In the first, and last, moment of their battle, Roland detonated an experimental EMP device, designed to disrupt Courier abilities world-wide.
At the same time, Leyra used her special ability, opening a gateway to a pocket dimension around herself and Roland, including the EMP device.
While this was going on, however, a force known as the IDPD was collapsing the dimension, after evaluating that the forces required to return the world to it's original, Courier-free state was…an unacceptable loss.
The combination of the dimension collapsing, the EMP device, and Leyra's gateway, shunted Roland, and presumably Leyra, to a separate dimension entirely. Roland has since awaken, vowing to continue his anti-superhuman crusade in this new world: Etrah.
Mindset: Paranoid, but logical; believes any and all superhumans are a threat to himself, and humans everywhere. Can work alongside them only when necessary, but will generally make every effort to weaken or destroy nearly any superhuman he encounters.
