Darzul entered the command center, the group from the Empowerment Initiative not far behind. They entered an office with a heavy door, which Darzul unlocked. Darzul ducked behind a desk, and gestured to the large table before it surrounded by chairs.
"Okay, doc, I think you've done these before," Darzul said, handing a pair of forms to the doctor. "Same drill as last time."
He then looked at Taka. "This is form VA-13," he said, placing a form before the young healer. "It's an agreement to remain silent about the classified project you just witnessed and/or took part in until the project is declassified. We need you to sign it before we can pay you."
Another, smaller form followed shortly. "This is just a receipt, for our records. Read over VA-13, print your name, and sign at the bottom. For the receipt I just need a signature."

Taka shuffled into the office, grabbing a pen and signing his name as best he could where Darzul indicated. To be honest, he thought it was a small miracle he was still standing. The Type V and adrenaline had taken the edge off of his fatigue, and kept his heart pumping fast enough to keep him awake, but if he didn't fall asleep on the drive home, he'd be surprised.
Passing the papers back across the desk, Taka tried, and failed, to stifle a yawn. His eyes were bloodshot, and dark circles had appeared under them in the short drive from the lab to Darzul's office.
"So...is there anything else you need from me?"

Darzul smiled paternally at Taka. "Just for you to get some R&R. You look worse than Apek."
He then opened a cash box, the faint orange glow of Coins beneath a certifier visible. He pulled two hundred-Coin pieces from the box and gave them to the doctor, who handed his forms to Darzul and left the room.
Darzul then pulled a 500-Coin piece from the box, the orange glow of the stamp illuminating the gold ring around the copper center. "Is this fine, or do you want me to make change?" he asked.

Taka's eyes widened in surprise, despite his fatigue; he knew how much he was getting paid, but he'd never seen a 500-coin piece so close before. He almost started wondering what he was going to spend it on, but as exhausted as he was, none of his thoughts made sense.
After briefly contemplating gold-plating his staff, Taka pinched himself, forcing his mind back to the matter at hand. "I'll take that in 100s, if you don't mind." It was easily the most awake he'd sounded since leaving the lab.

"No problem," Darzul said as he placed the 500-Coin piece back into the box, and grabbed out five 100-Coin pieces, the silver rim and golden center glittering in the light. Darzul counted aloud as he placed the Coins on the table:
"One, two, three, four, and five hundred. There you are, Taka. The Vorcan Army thanks you for your help, and for your discretion. If you'd like, I can have a car drive you home."
