Captain Mel Cadem paced quickly back and forth before his class, not making a sound save the crinkle of the bag of potato chips he was eating from, and the occasional crunch of him biting into one. He looked at the class, and they weren't doing a great deal of chatting amongst themselves. Cadem liked this group's chances.
"Men, women, I'm captain Cadem," he told the group, picking up another two bags of potato chips. "I'm your instructor for your specialized training in stealth ops. That's a mouthful, and I don't like saying more than I have to, so suffice to say I'll teach you to be a spy."
"While you're here," Cadem told the group as he walked to the far side of the room, "you'll learn to move without being heard or seen, search rooms and obtain intel without leaving a trace, and how to neutralize an enemy without them making so much as a peep."
He opened the potato chips and turned the bags upside down, covering the entire floor. He then ran across the room at a brisk jog, never once crunching a chip or otherwise making a sound. Had the class not been looking, they would never have known he had moved.
"Okay, get over here while making as little noise as possible," Cadem told the group. "One at a time, so I can tell how much noise each of you makes individually. You," he said, pointing to a fair-skinned woman at the far left of the group. "You first. Then the guy next to you, and down the line. Start now."

Drixel watched as the chips scattered threw out the floor. many methods passed threw drixels mind. he would try to meld with the floor and pull the chips out of the way but the starch was to complex for him to handle so that was out right away.
he could just try to glide over them but there was no wind or enough room to glide over. he could simple walk over them. sometime the best way is the most direct.
It wasn't long before it was Drixels turn. he decided to try to walk over them, stepping in the largest open area he could get at least a foot. Drixel as doing fairly well till he herd a loud CRUNCH. the look of disappointment filled his face as he made his way to the other side. making another CRUNCH before he got to the other end.

As the weeks went on, Cadem noticed steady improvement in all of his students. However, private Drixel was leaps and bounds ahead of the rest, at least as far as going unseen was concerned. Able to turn invisible on command, he was literally impossible to see when he wanted to be. He was even tough to spot with lasers or infrared. It's like he vanished into thin air.
However, much like the others, he still had plenty to learn.
"Okay, you've had two weeks' training, and in that time you've learned to move quietly. It sounds like a lot, but it's just the beginning. Now, we're gonna learn how to fool some of the more common security measures you'll encounter in your careers as Vorcan Army spies. We'll start with detecting and defeating laser security systems," Cadem told them, holding up a handful of small mirrors.

Drixel knew how to fool cameras but with lazers it was gonna be tricky. he knew a best course of action would be just glass as a mirror would reflect and set off said alarm. "what is my next test you want me to do sir?"

Cadem led Drixel to a room, about 20 feet by 15 feet. At the far end sat a pedestal with a 50-Coin piece on it.
He pulled a cigar from his pocket, and lit it. "Go get it," he said to Drixel, pointing to the pedestal. "If you can get the money without setting off any alarms, you can keep it," he said, exhaling a cloud of smoke as he puffed on his cigar.

the smoke blew into drixel's face. he let out a small cough. as he felt something, the same feeling he gets when he mimics matter. he knew what the smoke cloud was made up of and could try to mimic it to pass this test.
he thought to himself. its a long shot. drixel closed his eyes as his skin started to become transparent, his body slowly taking the form of a large smoke cloud. it was a strange feeling and one of excitement. drixel knew this was a step up from his normal matter mimic.
he would feel the air around him as he set his sights on the coin. his movement was a bit slow, but given it was his first time as a gas form. he could see around him as the laser were becoming visible but not being set off.
he past the lasers and found himself near the pedestal. he started to concentrate on his solid form, his hand started to form back into solid matter before snapping back to smoke. drixel tried to focus harder almost straining him self in the process. slowly his form started to appear from the smoke his feet touching down on the floor. drixel had returned to normal. out of breath he reached out for the coin and grabbing it. he held it up for Captain Cadem to see. "got it" he said before dropping to one knee and blacking out

Drixel...Drixel...
"Hey, Drixel, wake up," Cadem said, himself and the rest of the class standing over Drixel's now-solid form 3 minutes later. "That was quite an impressive display," he said. "But I'd take it a bit more easy next time," he added.
"And I have some bad news," he said. "Since I never specifically said this, I'll let it slide today. But you are supposed to stay conscious, as well as make it back out of the room after getting the Coin."
"Rest up for the rest of the day, Drixel," Cadem told him. "Yalgen, you're next. And instead of changing into smoke..." he said, shooting Drixel a sarcastic smile, "try just using the cans of smoke we talked about last week." He looked back to Drixel. "That's the hint I was trying to drop with the cigar, but way to take it to the next level."

Cadem nodded, amused. "Alright, Drixel." He set another 50-coin piece on the pedestal. "Grab it, and leave with it, remaining awake the entire time, without setting off the alarms."
