[shadow=navy,left,200]After quite a while walking, Rifel finally arrived at the edge of town. Things were... Different. Usually, this city was a little more run down. Now, things seemed restored, as though new residents had moved in, and cleaned up a little bit. That was a sign of hope. An even better sign, was that the lights inside the hospital were on.
"Almost there," he reassured his injured friend as they walked up the hospital steps, and through the door. Thankfully, there were people, and they were dressed in uniform that would suggest they were staff. Almost immediately, probably due to Jay's bleeding, they rushed to his aid.[/shadow]

*Jay happily flopped from Rifle to the arms of the nurse* "12 orders of blood please......... with a side of clotting agent. my nabo..nano... nano rotob....robobatots are slackin." *Normally this would not be a topic he would discuss openly but his thought process was a bit simplified currently. jay quickly passes out again as they lay him on a stretcher and take him to a room. he settles in as they hook him up to a number of do dads and whats its. In and out of consciousness, he only vomits blood occasionally. he might even pull through*

After supervising the hookups of the hospital's machines to Jay, the nurse directed Rifel out of the room and into the waiting area, leaving him to take down Jay's initial data as the doctor was notified. After a few minutes, a haggard young man with unkempt hair and a white coat entered the waiting room, clipboard in hand.
Directed by the nurse, the doctor walked over to Rifel, his steps unsteady, his fatigue evident in his posture. Extending a hand, he introduced himself.
"Good evening, my name is Doctor Wazizfitz, feel free to call me W. Can I ask you a few questions about your friend, Mister...?"

A huge sigh of relief escaped Rifel's chest, now knowing that his friend at least had a fighting chance. For a moment, he ignored the voice addressing him, collecting his thoughts. In reality, it was only after a few seconds, that he turned, and accepted the extended hand. Now looking at the man whose hand he now held, he made a few quick judgments. The guy seemed a mess, and probably wasn't the best qualified to actually carry out medical practices. At the very least, he could probably use a nap.
"Rifel," he introduced himself, "And that man's name is Jay. He's more resilient than he seems, but even I've never seen him this messed up. Trust me, I've got some questions myself. But, I will do my best to answer yours, to the best of my capability."

"We've got Jay hooked up, and we're replenishing the blood he's lost. Trying to, anyway. Doesn't help that he's bleeding out almost as fast, and stopping that seems to be a bit of a pain in the ass."
Glancing down at his notes, the doctor continued. "Crazy as it sounds, your friend does seem to be scarring over a good number of his wounds already. However, near as we can tell, he's bleeding internally, and none of the crazy silver scar shit plugging him up is doing him any good from the inside. I don't suppose you'd know anything about that?"

"Yeah..." he let the word linger, "He has nanites, and that usually does a damned good job of patching him up. But like I said, I, personally, have never seen him beat up quite this badly." Rifel wasn't a medical expert, but he never remembered bleeding being a problem for Jay. Maybe there was something that was forcing the bleeding, and disallowing the blood to clot. "I don't think there's a problem with the nanites themselves, but with the rate he's been bleeding, I imagine that he's lost a good number of them. But even then, stopping the bleeding would probably be the best place to start, and I don't think he's just going to stop on his own." He paused a moment, noting the tone that the doctor spoke to him with. "Not that I'm telling you how to do your job, or anything. Just throwing out some suggestions. Worries for my friend, and all that."

Doctor W. stopped short of telling the man off. He was on the tail end of a triple shift, and he was just about done dealing with people who took issue with his attitude. But then this Rifel had said one of the magic words: 'Nanites'.
"That might actually help. I'll get my best people on it right away, sir. If you could just have a seat in the waiting area, we'll give you an update on his progress as soon as there's anything to tell." And with that, he turned and rushed out of the room. Today had suddenly gotten interesting, and he had an important call to make.
==== 1 hour later ====
Roland stepped out of the passenger side of the car, patting the inside pocket of his jacket to ensure the contents were safe. One of the so-called 'doctors' he kept on payroll at the hospital had finally earned his paycheck, calling in a tip on an...unusual case. One that Roland and his eye in the sky seemed perfectly suited to handle.
Walking inside, he walked straight through the reception and waiting areas, making a beeline to Jay's room. Assuming the damned A.I. could do what it promised, he was about to save a life. A life that would owe him, and who apparently had some fairly knowledgable friends.
With a wave, Roland cleared the room, save one nurse to keep an eye on the monitors. That was one of the perks of owning the hospital board. Everyone knew just what a good idea it was to stay out of your way. Pulling the syringe of Scrap's nanobots from his jacket, he uncapped the needle and started looking for a vein that wasn't already occupied with a drip.
A glint of silver caught his attention from the corner of his eye, and he released the man's arm as he stepped to the bedside table. Picking up the vial, Roland took a close look at its contents. A silver liquid (or almost liquid) swirled around the container. A silver swirling liquid that was a dead ringer for the nanobots filling the syringe in his other hand. It didn't take long to do the math.
Uncapping the vial, Roland drew as much of the man's other nanobots into the syringe as he could, until the needle was full of the silvery mix. Replacing the cap, and deciding not to waste any more time, he shouldered the nurse out of the way and jammed the needle into Jay's chest, hopefully into his heart. Assuming he was human, anyway.
