[glow=orange,1,600]Visignis' jaw dropped. "Taelyrn?" he said, excitement evident in his voice. "You're the Warrior Angel of Light?" he exclaimed, totally forgetting for a moment that Taelyrn had grasped the furthest section of his bracer.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus sighed with relief. "Wow," he said. "God couldn't have possibly made a better choice."
He then smiled at Taelyrn. "You want your sword, go get it," he said. "That statue's unbreakable except by magical means. Let's see you get all Angel of Light on the thing."[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn smiled, sharing the excitement in Visignis' voice, and released his wrist. Nodding at Pyrodeus' challenge, he turned to face the statue. He hated to wreck it entirely, and for that reason, was glad to notice that the arm that held his sword was extended from the main part of the statue.
His wings, made up of the tendrils from his back, shot forth, entering the statue where the light reflected brightest from it's surface. For a moment, they could be seen weaving in and out of the various spots of light on the statue's arm, until there was a sound of creaking metal, as the statue's fingers were forced away from the sword.
After a moment of this, the sword fell free from the statue's grasp, and the tendrils left the statue in an instant, one of them retrieving the sword and bringing it to Taelyrn's hand. As he grasped it, the gem on the end of the hilt flared a bright blue, turning brighter until it was glowing white. Taelyrn smiled, his tendrils merging together into two bright, angular wings.
Looking up at Pyrodeus, panting slightly as he asked, "How was that?"[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]"Wow," Pyrodeus said. "I'm impressed. You didn't even wreck the statue."
"Just one more little test I'm gonna put you through," Pyrodeus said, walking into the Forge. The doors began to creak closed behind him.
"Open these doors," he said before they closed and sealed.[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn raised an eyebrow at the challenge, and turned his attention completely to the door. He closed his eyes, raising a hand towards it.
In his mind's eye, Taelyrn made an image of the doors to the Forge, adding a small brass ring to them, something to anchor his mind upon. He visualized streams of light shooting out, and wrapping around the rings, pulling hard upon them. He heard the grating sound of stone upon stone, and smiled, continuing until the doors had opened completely.
Opening his eyes again, Taelyrn felt a sudden rush of weakness, that quickly passed. He had never opened the doors before, and had put a tad too much effort into it. He shook it off, chalking up to a first-time experience, and walked into the Forge.[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]"Okay, looks like it does work," Visignis said, following Taelyrn into the Forge. "The reason my father did that was to see if a new Warrior Angel could also open the Forge doors. I don't think Tresdos ever tried, but it looks like he could have if he wanted to."
He then looked at his right hand, then back at Taelyrn. "Don't worry about the hand thing, by the way. It actually worked out quite well," he said, jabbing at the air with his right fist. It stretched out, rolling flames filling the gaps between bracer rings, before wrapping around Visignis twice and stopping in front of him. His right hand was now shielding his body, palm open, about 5 times its normal size with claws for fingertips.
"See? Not all bad," Visignis told Taelyrn, retracting his forearm to its regular size. The bracer rings locked together with a clang, and Visignis' right hand returned to its normal size and shape.[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus chuckled. "Stretch over there is right," he said to Taelyrn. "Now I know you have access to the Forge. Just don't trash the place when you throw your 'being a Warrior Angel' party."
"That reminds me," Pyrodeus said, his tone more serious. "How did you become the Angel of Light? I was born this way, so I'm curious how someone who wasn't becomes a Warrior Angel."[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn smiled as he watched Visignis' brief display of the usefulness of his new appendage. He had been worried Visignis would be angry with him for obstructing his ability to fight, but was pleasantly surprised at how well Visignis had adapted, increasing his own capabilities beyond the original.
Turning to Pyrodeus, Taelyrn considered Pyrodeus' question.
"It is true that I was not created as a Warrior Angel. Then again, neither was Tresdos. However, when he stole the Seal of Nocticertus, he used its energies to augment his own angelic energy, making him into the Warrior Angel of Darkness. He became one of us through thievery, and was destroyed while pursuing his own goals.
When I died, God intercepted my soul, diverting me to a realm called the Radiant Plane. He explained that He intended to create a Warrior Angel of Light, but wished for a human soul to use in the process. One who had lived and died selflessly, and would give the Angel of Light a more...human perspective. Something that Tresdos possessed, and one of the marks he left upon the power of Nocticertus.
He gave me the choice of spending Eternity in Heaven, or becoming the Angel of Light. I chose the latter, and my soul was altered, fused with the energies of the intended Angel of Light. I spent a few days in Heaven, learning the most basic of my new abilities, and then returned to Etrah, to this place."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus smiled. "Direct divine contact," he said, looking at Taelyrn. "And in case you're wondering, no, it doesn't ever get old. After 8,000 years of it I still get that rush every time."
He then paused and thought. "The Radiant Plane," he muttered. "That confirms another one of my suspicions," he said. "Each Warrior Angel has an elemental plane they travel through when teleporting. Mine is the Blazing Plane, yours the Radiant Plane." He then chuckled. "If you haven't tried it yet, teleport one of these days. It's fun."
"That must mean that there's a Frozen Plane, an Electric Plane, and so on down the line of Warrior Angels. I wonder if any poor soul has stepped through a rift and wound up there."[/glow]

[glow=orange,1,600]Visignis shook his head. A thought then occured to him: He still had a mansion filled with sick or injured angelic refugees.
"I have to go to the mansion," he said. "There are a lot of angels who need medical atention. You two sit here and nerd out about Warrior Angel stuff, I'll be there if you need me."
Visignis then rose and opened the Forge doors, flying outside and toward his mansion.[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn waved farewell to Visignis, realizing with slight shock that, in a way, Visignis was his nephew. A small smile crossed his face as he realized what it meant. In a way, even though they were not bonded by blood...he had a family.
NEW family, you mean. What about the one from...before? I know our memory's a bit foggy about anything before that oasis, but...you DO remember, don't you?
Taelyrn muttered to himself, "I do remember..."
Shaking it off for the time being, Taelyrn turned back to Pyrodeus. "So, just how much 'nerding out' is there to do? I had the basics explained to me, about the Sons of Plunder and the original 8, but I'm not sure what else there is to know."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus raised his eyebrows. "Alright, you're better informed than I thought," he told Taelyrn. "Along with yourself and Nocticertus, there are 10 of us now. Five created by angelic hands, their 5 counterparts by divine. The five Sons of Plunder were created by Lucifer, and he was killed by Arius. So I doubt there will be any more than the original five, and they're all dead, too."
He looked at the chest against a wall, filled with the seals and weapons of the fallen Warrior Angels, save 2 seals and a weapon still in Damian's position. "These seals still hold the powers of the fallen Warrior Angels, and act as a gateway for their souls. With an available body and enough power, any or all of them could be raised from the dead."
He turned back to Taelyrn. "The reason I bring up the chest is to show you that of 10 Warrior Angels, 7 are now dead," Pyrodeus somberly told him. "Your new power is great, Taelyrn. Before your death, you could go toe to toe with Visignis and hold your own. Now, even with his new hand, you should be able to defeat him at least 2 out of every 3 battles."
"But remember that Cryodivus and I completed Magres Xerfal. Being an angel is not the same as being immortal. You're very strong, but you are vulnerable. Don't be too careless until you know exactly what you're capable of."[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500]Taelyrn nodded. He could tell, especially now that he had retrieved his sword, and the fragment of this former power stored within it, that he was far stronger now than he had been in life. He still wasn't entirely sure how the trick with the statue had worked...like many things in his life, and now his afterlife, it just came to him.
"The last thing I have in mind is being careless. I'm eager to find out the extent of my abilities, just as I was the first time around. This time, though, I've got a clear purpose to my life, where before, it was pure coincidence that I was here when I was."[/glow]

[glow=red,2,500]Pyrodeus smiled. He got up and opened the Forge doors, his sword in his hand. "You could have just asked, Taelyrn."
He stepped outside and turned around. "You're probably just aching to see how far you can push yourself. Same old Taelyrn."
"Well come on, Warrior Angel of Light," he said, forming a shield of flame on his off hand. "Impress me."[/glow]

[glow=white,1,500] Taelyrn returned the smile, tightening his grip on his sword as he followed Pyrodeus out of the Forge. His wings split apart, forming the tendrils of light once again. The blade of his sword began to glow with a soft, pulsing light.
"You know me, Pyrodeus. Always eager to please!"
Leaping forward as fast as he could, Taelyrn closed the distance between himself and Pyrodeus in an instant, striking at Pyrodeus' shield with his sword, while his tendrils attempted a unified strike at the God of Fire's unshielded side.[/glow]
