[glow=blue,10,000]Artemis stared in disbeleif at the monstrosity before himself. This was it? This was his backup? One man? He sighed. This wasn't going to be any easier.
More untrue words had never been thought. This one man managed to melt through the building's wall in very little time. It was too direct. Impressive, but too direct. Undoubtedly, the personel inside were already alerted. With another sigh, Artemis shook his head, pushing past the behemoth of a man. "Yeah. Let's try talking with them first. I'd rather not have to destroy a place that might be of valuable importance some day."
Stepping through the smoldering hole, he was in what seemed to be a shop of some sort. Tools, vehicles, other various objects, filled a majority of the space. Judging by the vehicles, this was a military compound, of some sort. Hopefully, though, that meant that whoever was in charge would listen to reasoning. Hearing the clatter of footsteps, coming from the other side of a door across the room, the scientist thought it better to holster his weapon, returning it to its place at the small of his back. He didn't want them to come in, see the weapon, and open fire automatically. To further his case of being unharmful, he raised his arms, and stood where he was.
Looking over his shoulder, he eyed his insane form of backup. "Just stay there, and look pretty. Whatever you do, don't make an ass of yourself. Or me, for that matter."[/glow]

[glow=white,5,600]This was getting to be a bit too much. Not a minute after being told that he was talking to a man who was supposed to be dead, while in the middle of a lockdown, Coryn was thrust into a seige. It had been a while since he'd had such an active day. He'd walked out the door of Darzul's office, just in time to hear that there was a disturbance on the west side, and alarms began sounding. His military training taking over, the once general followed behind a small handful of soldiers, which he assumed were heading to the scene.[/glow]

Darzul emerged into the shop, to see what looked a lot like a thrash metal singer standing in his repair shop. Behind him stood a man wearing a uniform, not unlike those of Deluive and the sniper.
He lowered his gun slightly, and the dozen men who had followed him did the same. He looked at the rockstar, then at the man in uniform.
"Are you here about Deluive?" he asked, masking the majority of his anger in having to repair that wall regardless of their answer.

[glow=blue,10,000]Artemis stepped forward, toward the man with the gun. He wasn't very versed in military politics, but he knew enough to show no fear, which he hoped his few steps managed to convey. Behind the calm exterior, though, he may as well have been soiling himself. What had that little fuckup, and this new, big fuckup, gotten him and his team into?
"I am," he spoke, as sternly as he could manage, "Please forgive my accomplice. He's rather new at this, and tends to charge in without regard for much of anything. If you'll accept it, I can repair the hole, as soon as I get me comrades back." He thought for a moment. There was usually some sort of exchange, about this point in the negotiation. Of course, they wouldn't just give Ariska back for free. "I understand that one of my team has taken a few lives. I am terribly sorry for your loss, and I can assure you that he will be punished severely when we return home. I don't expect that you'll just hand them back so casually. What is your price?"[/glow]

Darzul holstered his pistol. He was thankful they were willing to talk this through. Enough blood hd been shed today.
"A member of your military killed four of my men today," Darzul said. "In our attempts to detain him and his accomplices, we were responsible for the death of one of your men and the inury of another. Deluive is unharmed, and your sniper was hit by a few rounds but recieved prompt medical attention. His condition is stable."
Darzul sighed. "In my mind, one man's blood cancels another. However, there still remains the issue of the other three dead men at the hands of your officer." Darzul pondered the situation. Especially considering that the men were snipers -
"Your organization's sniper rifle," Darzul said, recalling the less-than-optimal state of the few sniper rifles he had been able to acquire. "I want the knowledge required to manufacture and operate the sniper rifle your man used to kill my soldiers."

[glow=blue,10,000]Lowering his arms, finally, Artemis began pacing. It wasn't a terrbile offer. By all rights, it should be safe. The metal used in the Greiss was the only one that was capable of holding so much magnetic charge, let alone channelling it. There was a very low probability that it would be found in this world. Still, there were protocols in place for this very reason. Exodus had been right, in saying that all evidence would be erased, should they not retrieve the others. It was a standard order, as the IDPD wanted to remain transparent, if not invisible. They also had a strict policy of hiding their mistakes.
He offered a glance toward his beastly backup. That may have been a mistake, as it could have conveyed a request for help. Artemis wasn't sure he wanted the guy's help in this situation.
Various counter offers ran through his mind. He didn't like most of them, which involved more bloodshed, or the giving up of a team member. The rest were, possibly, too far fetched, to be accepted. He'd been silent for nearly a minute, before he stopped, and faced the men again. His mind was racing still, but it would look bad if he thought too long. For now, he would have to stall.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, even if I wanted to," he started, "I don't have a copy of the records on hand, and it would take a considerable amount of time to retrieve them, with red tape, and such. I apologize. But thank you for reminding me. I'm going to need any confescated equipment returned, as well. I can offer you money, perhaps, or some other form of resources."[/glow]

Darzul's displeasure with the rejection of his offer left him miffed, a fact he made minimal effort to mask. These guys just showed up out of nowhere, started killing his officers, and now these two show up, almost apologetic, with a simple 'My bad, we'll pay you back, just not with anything useful' attitude? Like hell.
"Money we have," Darzul told the ambassador from...whoever these people were. "And resources are not a problem, as far as food, clothing, and shelter. All we are wanting for is military hardware, which appears to be the one thing you are unwilling to trade." He sighed. Then, a wave of brilliance washed over Darzul.
"I mean no hostility,"Darzul said, slowly grasping the strap on his Carbine. I just need to show you this." Holding the weapon only by the strap, Darzul pressed a button causing the magazine to eject. He pulled back the bolt, ejecting the chambered shell, and held the gun out.
"This is our standard weapon,"Darzul said. "The Reyone Carbine. It's a very reliable weapon, and pretty accurate for an assault rifle. The problem is locating them."
"Help me construct a plant to allow us to manufacture these," Darzul said. "The entire weapon, and replacement parts for when one is damaged. We'll find the raw materials for the guns and the space to set up the plant," he said. "What we need from you is operating factory machinery to let us make our own."

*Alex walked up to the hole in the building and stopped for a moment. it seemed as though he had missed some fun. he had not moved as quickly as Artemis. He walked through, placing a fist sized black box on the ousid eof the building as a contigecy should anything go wrong. the box would explode with great force and create enough radiant heat to melt the majority of the complex flat. he hated to waist something he had so few of but with the uncertainty of the situation he wanted to be careful. Alex then proceeded to walk into the building and stand by Artemis, giving a friendly smile to Darzul. He noticed the other man but chose not to acknowledge him at the moment.*

Darzul saw another man approach the ambassador, and smiled a winning smile. Darzul positively loathed how casual these people were about the entire situation, as though greeting an army with murder and that army having two hostages belonging to your own organization were slightly less convenient than a hangnail. He gave the man a subtle nod, but said nothing to him.
"So?" Darzul said, looking at Artemis. "What do you say?"

[glow=blue,10,000]Having mulled over the offer for a moment, Artemis believed it to be a fair deal. He took the weapon being handed to him, and proceeded to examine it. The design was fairly simple, and the materials were commonplace, mostly carbon based. "I think we have a deal," he spoke, "But, before I help you, I want my men, and their equipment returned. Once they leave, with the two behind me, I will remain here, alone. From there, we can begin the operation." He returned the weapon to the soldier. "I think that's fair enough."[/glow]

Darzul nodded. "Agreed." He turned to one of the men behind him. "Bring Deluive and the sniper here," he said. He turned and faced another man. "Bring the equipment they had on their person when they were detained."
Darzul looked at the negotiator. "As I said, the man who opened fire will likely show some pallor and weakness. His condition is stable, and the surgeon recommended a transfusion but blood is very hard to come by, so we save it for patients in mortal danger."
The man sent to retrieve the prisoners nodded to the jailer, who opened the cell. "Your ambassador has negotiated your release," he told Ariska and Greg. "Come with me."
The man sent to retrieve the weapons walked to the table which held the weapons. He looked at the sword that Deluive had worn when coming here, and considered holding onto it. But between the displeasure of the other side and the creative yet severe wrath of General Vorca made him change his mind.

[glow=brown,2,000]"Sure as hell took long enough," she spat, rising to her feet. Following the man from the cell, she made sure to snag her weapon from another one of the soldiers. How the hell did she get wrapped up in this mess? This was supposed to be a recon mission. They were supposed to come to this world, see what was going on, then leave in peace.
Walking into the room where negotiations took place, her eyes fell upon the scientist. Ariska glared daggers at the man, stomping up to him. Leaning in as she passed by his left side, she whispered into his ear. "Next time you decide to take your sweet time, it had better be a time when I'm not being held prisoner." She offered a quick jab to his kidney, and stepped out of the building through the melted hole. In her frustration, she dismissed the zombie behemoth. It was just another soldier to her.[/glow]

Darzul smirked at Ariska's demeanor. "Don't be a stranger, Deluive," he said, grinning sarcastically.
He then looked back at Artemis. "That should do it for your personnel and equipment," he said.

(Taking liberty with Ariska and Exodus, and claiming that they have left the scene.)
[glow=white,5,600]This was turning out to be an odd day indeed. The hostages were being let go because, apparently, one man was going to build a facility to manufacture guns. Quite a hefty promise, as Coryn saw it. Nonetheless, the one who's seemingly melted a hole in the wall didn't seem too pleasant. He seemed to more for large scale destruction, than retrieval. Perhaps this was all a ruse, to take the base by surprise. Stepping forward, Coryn began after the departed 'guests.' "Darzul, I will escort them out of town. Wouldn't want them to come back on us. I'll return shortly." That said, he stepped through the hole, and took to the sky.[/glow]

[glow=blue,10,000]Having watched Ariska leave with his backup, if the one man could be called that, the scientist's masculine composure broke down, allowing him to rub his side in agony. "She hits a little too hard for a woman of her build," he mumbled, "Looks like I'll have to wait for that thanks." Clearing his throat, a balled fist held to his mouth, Artemis turned to his client. "Right then. Show me where you want this facility, and I'll take care of the rest."[/glow]
